Every year in February, during Black History Month, the Peterborough library celebrates the many achievements and contributions of Black Canadians. The theme for Black History Month 2022 is February and Forever: Celebrating Black History today and every day.
While the library can’t host any activities in person this year, here are a few ways you can celebrate Black History Month:

- Check out this Black Lives Matter Reading List on their new Staff Blog, “Shelf Talk.”
- Celebrate Black voices with hoopla Digital eAudiobooks, music, movies, and titles for Kids
- Join the Adult Book Club and take part in a discussion of Jael Richardson’s Gutter Child on February 22.
- Read a book related to Black History Month/Black Lives Matter for the 2022 Reading Challenge for Adults and Teens or subscribe to join the Monthly Book Chat discussion on February 10.
- This month the library Tween Book Club is reading Saint Louis Armstrong Beach by Brenda Woods. If you’d like to join the club please send an email.
