I Am Not Your Negro
February 1, 7:00-9:30 pm. Unitarian Fellowship of Peterborough
This acclaimed 2017 film is “a journey into black history that connects the past of the Civil Rights movement to the present of #BlackLivesMatter,” and “a radical, up-to-the-minute examination of race in America, using James Baldwin’s original words and flood of rich archival material.” Mature subject matter. Free admission. (Small donations for costs and refreshments accepted.) Followed by discussion, with special guest Rosemary Sadlier, who played a lead role in bringing Black History Month to Ontario.
